Hello civers,

Because 'Age of Piracy' is (IMHO) one of the best pre-'Fantastic Worlds' scenarios, I wanted to put it on my webpage (http://welcome.to/civ2)... But the scenario was packed in a pretty odd way, and it needed some changes before it could be played WITH Fantastic Worlds.
Because of that I have now put the Age of Piracy in a more common package, namely 1 zip for the scenario itself and 1 for the sounds.

INSTALLING

to install the scenario, unzip this archive into a subfolder of the CivilizationII 'Scenario' folder (e.g. C:\MPS\Civ2\Scenario\Piracy). The sounds should go in the 'Sound' subdirectory of this scenario.

CHANGES

To allow it to be played with Fantastic Worlds, I had to add some (FW-specific) lines to the Labels.txt and change the string heap size.
There were four 'silent' sound files, which were still some 3 seconds long. To reduce the size of the archive I changed the size of these files to 0 bytes.

As I said, the scenario was packed very strangely. Because I changed some things, several subjects in the !!readme.doc file don't apply anymore!

When you want to experience this scenario to the full, run Piracy.bat.
This file replaces some basic Civ2 file for you (and makes backups), namely Game.txt, Labels.txt, Scredits.txt and Scredits.gif.
Piracy.bat can also restore the settings to the original.
NOTE: When you use the batch file, use it consistently (use it both for replacing and restoring, or not at all) otherwise you might be unpleasantly surprised.

That's all. One last note: I didn't change anything affecting gameplay, so this scenario will play exactly the same as the 'original'.
